The Well Designed Phone Charger

A confession from one desk setter to another:

We here at Office Envy have a fancy new cell phone that lets us call, email, text, tweet, make restaurant reservations, get directions when we're lost, buy domain names (you know we have a little bit of an addiction), take pictures, take notes and take names and kick some a** (although we've yet to actually use this rumored functionality.)

In other words, it's the best!
But really, it's the worst!!

Because you see, the damn thing has at most 4 hours of active battery life when it's not plugged in. Which we were told this morning is a result of plugging it in too much. Which we do because it runs out of battery if not constantly plugged in. And wheels on the bus go round and round....

It's inspired by this dilemma that we bring you today's post on the Electree.

Because you see, we here at Office Envy have recently developed a theory. If you are going to overcharge your phone to the point where it is practically useless, at least make sure your charger is awesome to look at. And this one is!

Inspired by the photosynthesis that allows trees to turn sunlight into energy, the solar panels on this desk-sized tree uses the natural light shining through your window to.....yes...you guessed it, charge your phone or other less multifunctional devices.

If you sign up now on the pre-sale list from Ulele.com you can get it in time for holiday gift giving.

Solar Bonsai Electree, about $400 (priced in Euro on Ulele.com)

Would you buy it?
